Heritage Square Day w/The Family

I had today off, as my usual day off, and we decided to take the boys to Heritage Square in Golden CO.  Its this weird lil place tucked on the hillside thats part carnival, part redneck fair, part ghetto and part tourist attraction.

Taryn had never been there before either.  We had a great time.  The kids got to ride their very first "amusement park" rides...swings, roller coasters, tilt-a-whirl and others.  They also had their first "train" ride too.  Its just a lil mock up that goes around the perimeter of the entire place.  Then there was the Funnel Cake!  I think I was more into that than they were...well, except for Zach, who loves food as much as I do!

The pics are a bit lame, as they were taken with our phones(someone left the lil camera on the roof of the car, thought we lost it, only to find it stuck on the roof rack when we got back home!), and my editing patience waned very quickly, so they are OG for the most part.

remember these from HS! dont think they have them anymore

the sign on the right said if you "complete the maze in less than 10mins, you COULD win an iPod Touch" haha

Day 67...Music Video Time

I was just sitting down to write this and my youngest woke up again, the 3rd time tonight.  He sleeps like his mom...sporadic at best.  Luckily the part of him that is a bit of me is that tickling his back puts him out like a light switch.  Fortunately it chilled him out quickly, unfortunately it took a lil more than that to get him back to sleep completely.  Good news is now he's quiet.  My oldest got my sleeping genes...once out, it takes a pretty big explosion to wake me.

Switching topics completely, I got turned on to a pretty damn funny video via the twitter-verse and @duzer.  Made me laugh my ass off actually.  Warning...There is EXPLICIT language

Day 51...Kids, CX and Frites' Secret Weapon

Ok, Im sorry.  I saw through my "stats" that I was actually gaining some readers(thank you btw for using your valuable time to read my shtuff!) and over the course of last week, I managed to lose some of you do to my "Lame Week".  Thus is Life.  Ebbs and Flows for every aspect of it.  Afterall if we maintained consistency we'd either be a robot, or there'd be no need for motivation of any sort.

My youngest heard the bike race on the computer yesterday and kept asking me, the way kids do non stop until they get what they want or we walk out of the room, to watch it while he ate breakfast.  So he sat there and watched a bunch of really fit dudes race their bikes really fast.

chillin with a bowl of cereal and some CX
he got a lil upset when the feed crapped out for a min...
So after a day of keeping the kids entertained while mom did an awesome job of doing our annual tax returns, I went down to The Wynkoop for the Frites En Mayo team meeting.  It was good to see friends and meet some new ones.

These guys/gals are all about Cross, pure and simple.  They live for it and have fun all at the same time.  Their team has jumped in size more than 2 fold since last year, all by people who want to race cross and who have heard of the super friendly reputation of the team.

As part of their "tongue n cheek" mentality towards the professional peloton, the "Team Pen" reflects that beautifully.  I think theyre awesome personally!

They also took orders for their summer specific kit.  Super clean and very nice lightweight fabric will be used on this setup.

Nothing like a lil "boost" on your next autograph!

the Frites Summer kit...very nice!
All in all it was a great day.
