Heritage Square Day w/The Family

I had today off, as my usual day off, and we decided to take the boys to Heritage Square in Golden CO.  Its this weird lil place tucked on the hillside thats part carnival, part redneck fair, part ghetto and part tourist attraction.

Taryn had never been there before either.  We had a great time.  The kids got to ride their very first "amusement park" rides...swings, roller coasters, tilt-a-whirl and others.  They also had their first "train" ride too.  Its just a lil mock up that goes around the perimeter of the entire place.  Then there was the Funnel Cake!  I think I was more into that than they were...well, except for Zach, who loves food as much as I do!

The pics are a bit lame, as they were taken with our phones(someone left the lil camera on the roof of the car, thought we lost it, only to find it stuck on the roof rack when we got back home!), and my editing patience waned very quickly, so they are OG for the most part.

remember these from HS! dont think they have them anymore

the sign on the right said if you "complete the maze in less than 10mins, you COULD win an iPod Touch" haha

An Answer To A Question...

Alright, this is for my man @scanachi over on the twittersphere.  He asked what I carry in my bag to work everyday.  This is a sampling of what I carry.  These are the basics.  Clothing depends on the possible extremes of the day's weather.  Anywho...here ya go Nacho-Cheese!

the basics

the prayer beads are the lil bit of faith I keep with me on the bike.  the prayer flag was given to me by my friend Bill Fehr who brought it back, tied w/yak hair, from Tibet

my gerber, my saddle bag(which is kept in my bag), lights and clothes

helmet...aka...Brain Bucket, and the trusty ulock...always

my main light.  perfect size for commuting
...and finally(not pictured) is my Safety Manual.  People often ask why my bag is so big(pun intended), and the truth is, is that its a bag I had made custom for me from my messenger days.  I wanted a bag I could strap 2 bankers boxes to so I didnt have to run them on the handlebars.
