Day 56...Repost Cause I Wanna Get The Word Out

Yes, Im reposting my post from yesterday/last night.  I want to get the word out to people about this Giordana Clothing Sale...cuz its awesome!  Also, Im going to be geeking over my bike later and have planned on posting on it tomorrow.  So...enjoy...

"Today was a good day.  Everyone survived their perspective places of business(wife and I), and place of education(the offspring).  We all made it back home safe and sound.

Ok, down to "business".  If you live in the Denver/Metro area, and are looking for some off season screaming deals on clothing...nice clothing...then come by the shop.  The Giordana Rep brought by 3 boxes of clothing from last year and we are selling them at 50% Off!!!  Its a mix of men's and women's, and the sizing is limited...mostly medium and larges in the men's, and small/mediums in the women's.  Its FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED only!

I get asked about cables and housing quite a bit...well, when people are looking at replacing them.  There are a few people out there whove asked about the Gore cable system.  My personal feelings...theyre nice...but pricey.  If you have the money to spend, fine go for it, but bring your mechanic a tip in liquid form, or some other digestible product of their choice.  Itll help with some of those fancy systems.

Ive also been asked what I use personally.  Personally, i like to use 5mm shift and brake housing.  The question of "keeping them clean" comes up at this point.  My response...5mm shift housing is perfect because they can be easily cleaned/regreased when needed.  This should make perfect sense, but I see where some people come from on the other side of the coin.  "Bigger hole = easier access for dirt".  If you use a nice 5mm alloy ferrule made for shift housing, the cable hole is the same diameter as the 4mm ferrule.  Thus...argument null and void.

Now, the bigger question...what to use.  Ive tried Tri-flow, but got turned onto Buzzy's Slick Honey and havent looked back.  (oh, i should stop here for a brain fart moment, and state that the cables are all stainless slick...NOT galvanized)  Tri-flow tends to break down rather quickly and collect quite a bit of dirt by the sheer fact that its super wet and runny.  The Slick Honey is super smooth, feels like a wet lube but when you actually give it a lil rub between your fingers, you immediately notice that its just a super super this grease.  "Sticks" nicely to the cables, easy to clean up and cheap!  Makes my cables/housing feel about as nice as some of those crazy-make a mechanic go nuts-nutty systems out there.
